Anniversary trip to PHUKET

Day 1
16th June 2008

Woke up at 6am-arrived KLIA at 730am.After had breakfast at McD, went straight to catch up our 930am flight.Only an hour 20 minutes flight with Malaysia Airlines. The food ada kuih-muih melayu,bun,sunglo yogurt and mineral water.Not bad huh.Go go MAS!!Packaging jugak cantik..ohh ya..cover cushion pun colourful.I am so excited!!! dah lama tak tgk flt 737 and they already changed the cushion cover!!

Once arrived, after dah clear imigration, amik bag and kuar.masya-allah, ramainya taxi driver kat situ, duk bargain harga.Pening!So crowded okay..

Anyway,there's a transportation desk which has fixed price taxi services to various destinations on the island - I think I paid somewhere around THB 500 for the 30km to Patong by taxi. You should also be able to get a hire car here.

One of the cheapest mode of transportation from Airport to Patong Beach is to take the join minibus. Tickets are priced at THB 150 and can be purchased at the counter upon exit of the arrival hall. You may also pay direct to the driver who will make purchase of the tickets on your behalf. The mini bus will depart when they have 10 passengers. We only knew about minibus after we reached town..huh..!!

By taxi,we were both driven to a travel agent company where they sell us accommodation and tour packages.Kami tanyala berapa harga package2 iteww,agak mahal jugak.At first, we plan to stay at P.S Hotel Patong tp bila kami tanya mereka ada tak bilik yang harga THB 600 ( lower than PS Hotel prices),mereka kata ada satu guesthouse ni. Kami mmg tak booking ape2 from KL and we rasa mcm dunno where to go,so we booked from them lah for only 1 night .We thought dah cukup murah dah tu.Plus ada org bgtau, we should booked from agency baru dapat the best price..huh.Well..actually tak BETUL.

Anyway, sampai saja di guesthouse tu, I dont want to expect too much.With that price, I think I can expect wht shud I expect.Anyway,it was operated by an Italian boss with his Thai wife.

Bilik kami kt floor 3,lift takda( hey paid for RM65 je ok...) takkan nk lift2 pulak kan.Sampai saja kat our room- tadaaaaaaa~








OMG! The room was..wayyyy better than our room at Tioman Island!!!Ada tv(with astro,movies,news,sports-ooh lengkap sekali) ..Water heater-shower..the toilet is clean!Itu paling penting.The room was big and spacious, a good and queen size bed, good furniture, very good wooden decoration and it ended up costing us RM65 per night!U know, I am a fussy person but this room..i loikee~



We wanted a room/hotel near to Jungceylon( shopping mall)The guestroom located in the heart of Patong Beach and close to all kinds of entertainment centers, shopping areas and minute walk from a beach.



We took half an hour nap and had lunch at Jungceylon, the largest international shopping and leisure destination in the Andaman region. This shopping mall is located on the corner of Bangla and Patong 2 roads - the liveliest spot in Patong area.We decided to share burger king fillet o'fish saja since malam nnti nak makan bnyk!!Plus, time tu mcm dah around 3pm pun.




After my stomach was filled, I suggested to hubby to rent a motorbike! Hubby kata nak rent kereta cos I tau,dia sure taknak I panas.OOhh so sweet..tp motor pun sweet jugak!!

Oleh sbb malas nak pusing2 so kami rented motorbike kat our guesthouse saja. Costed around THB 200 per day. Ada lagi murah tp bukan kt our guesthouse lah.around THB 100 pun boleh dapat tp yg manual.Yg THB 150-200 tu auto( scooter)



So,that night went to Kang Eng 2 situated at Chalong Bay which has several simple Thai style restaurants, which sell some of Phuket's best seafood at reasonable prices. This Bay is not suitable for swimming, as the water is not very clear.


We ordered fresh oyster,tom yam,crab and local vegetables and fresh coconut.
The food sedap..sedap sedapppp..Itu je bole cakap. Pricewise- not so bad, around THB 650 for everything!!!

Immediately zipping a cold drink from the restaurant, I was on the road again.Our plan was biking around the island and stopped at Simon Cabaret. Price at THB 850 masa kt agency tu, so we decided nak gi tanya sendiri kt kaunter. Daily shows starts at 7.30pm and 9.30pm. Price is at THB 600 (list price) !Huh mmg agency suka marked up giller!!! Ohh ya, please please please have your dinner before you go there as there is no restaurant there, only cafe selling beers and liquors. If not, you will be ended up starving!!



Anyway, Simon Cabaret is "transvestite"show.It all men or ladyboys.It is almost imposibble to tell they are not women as the make up and dress is so well done! At the end of the show, all the ladyboys will queue up and you can choose which one you want to picture with. I didnt take picture with ladyboys..ooh ya we have to pay some money pun bila nak amik gambar with 'em. tp not much..costed around THB 20 or anything yg you wanna givelah.Simon Cabaret Show in Phuket is a great night out, good fun and value for money. Amazing costumes and very entertaining. I love!

The show ended at 1130pm mcm tu..after that we headed to our place.Macam balik nak tukar baju and nak pergi Bangla Road( clubs,tiger shows...night life) tp as usual,I felt asleep!!hahahha..Ohh ya..it was our anniversary night actually,we were so tired sampai lupa nk wish each other that night.Anyway, not too late kot-

I have a million and one things I wanna blog about...my trip in Phuket, my friend- pinky's house warming party..bla bla bla..Ohh will take a week!! .

It's a BOY

Me & hubby went to visit Ayi few days ago.It was really good to see Ayi after..urmm,few mths.I think,the last was at One Utama- correct me if I was wrong.

Before the lil' boy was named, Ayi told me that they were looking for a name to go along with her husband's name.Ayi's husband is my husband's friend by the way.And his name starts with alphabet 'M'.

At last,the 3.8 kgs healthy baby was named Muhammad Mika. Ohh ya it's kinda remind me about Mikala( character in Transformers played by Megan Fox,kan?) So mika &mikala..huh nice combination..hehehe

Mizan's family were there too.They came after us.Everyone in the room had a go holding lil Mika except ..me& hubby :P~

EUROTRIP by apeng

This trip took place few months and here goes.....
Depart from KLIA on MH2. For the first time I'm gonna sit in economy class on a long haul flight unlike my partner in crime, Fadd. Wondering how its gonna feel because I'm so use to travel in business class [ with that extra room leg and bigger seat :) ]. Check in and immigration was a breeze although no aisle seat is available anymore. More reason to feel worried :) . Generally, its a smooth 12 hour flight. Breakfast was served coincidentally during 'sahur', no problem for 'puasa'.
From London we flown on board British Midlands. The only earliest flight available is at 1115am. Arrive in Manchester 1 hour afterward. My sister, her husband and their youngest son were already there at the arrival hall waiting for us. Once we step outside the terminal, the cold weather of Manchester greet us. Excited and can't wait what's in store for us in the coming weeks.

There's not much activity in the first day, just resting and getting use to the new time zone. Managed to entertain the kids while playing Nintendo Wii.
The next morning, all of us wake up early to start the day. First stop was a factory outlet in Stoke selling pottery and fine china. There are a few particular brands that we are interested in such as Royal Doulton, Wedgwood and last but not least Noritake ( for those who haven't heard about it, consider it as the same quality as Corelle only more expensive ). We bought a few things off the shelf. From Stoke we drive through a countryside area to Chatsworth. We were told that this is where the movie Pride and Prejudice took place. At Chatsworth, Sotheby's ( famous auction house ) is having a selling exhibition of monumental sculpture from 8 Sep until 4 Nov title 'Beyond Limits' in the garden area. Some the sculpture displayed :

A new day, still a bit tired from yesterday activity. Today, we are going to another factory outlet in Colne, Boundary Mills. Here, the range of things is endless. You can find almost everything from clothes to house decorations. Managed to get hold of Remy and set to have our 'buka puasa' together. Can't remember the name of the place but one thing for sure we had a lot to catch up.

Manchester United Museum & Tour is on the card today. Just wondering what's the fuss about Man United and Old Trafford stadium. Admission fee is 10 pounds. Quote, " After delving into the history of Manchester United in the museum, why not delve a little further and take a behind the scenes tour or the Theater of Dreams. The stadium tour takes you to places that are only accessible to the players and officials on match days, so if you've ever wondered what it feels like to emerge from the player's tunnel to the roar of 76,000 fans, now is the time to find out. You'll also get to sit in the heights of the North Stand for a bird's eye view of the pitch, stand in Sir Alex Ferguson's spot in the dugout (a bit smelly though) and sit at your favourite player's peg in the home dressing room." After everything that I've wrote, I'm still a Blues fan. There is no chance that I'm gonna switch my allegiance. "Long live the Blues"

Early next morning, we took a 5 hour bus ride from Manchester Central to Victoria Coach Station in Victoria, London. Bought the ticket through internet from National Express, search for 'funfare' ticket, cheapest ticket available. Spent two nights in Caswell Hotel, a bed & breakfast establishment in Victoria. True to its name, a room that offers limited space, no view whatsoever only plenty of stairs. Suits us just fine for the price that we are willing to pay just to get a room to rest. We went to Madame Tussaud straight after check in and it took about 2 hour to discover he whole building. This is the only place where you can rub shoulders with celebrities, compare muscles with sport stars and pucker up to politicians. Pose alongside Hollywood stars and become part of your own Hollywood poster. Not even the sensational news in Harakah can match the scoop in the century, a picture of you with Julia Roberts. Sing, dance and perform with the sultry Jennifer Lopez, stunning Beyonce, wild Britney even Kylie Minogue, are you diva in the making? Before you finish the tour, there is a 10 minute animated show, get the back seat for best view.

We start our second day in London by using the hop-on-hop-off Open Top Bus Tour @ The Original Tour. Stop at London Bridge and went to London Dungeon. Unfortunately, my camera ran out of juice so no picture for today. Anyway, the experience is unforgettable. Thereafter, we visit the Tower Bridge Exhibit, a marvel in engineering world. Discover full size steam engines and working models showing how the bridge works, interactive computers and above all, one of the best panoramic views of London from the high-level walkways, 47 meters above the Thames. The bridge opens to allow traffic through 900 times a year, another spectacle not to be missed! Unfortunately, we went there and come back empty handed :( . The Thames Circular River Cruise is next on our agenda. Departure is from Westminster Pier and some of the famous sights are the Houses of Parliament, Shakespeare's Globe, St Paul's Cathedral, Tate Modern, the Tower of London and the London Eye, the latest attraction in London. The British Airways London Eye is the world's highest observation wheel and offers passengers amazing views of Britain's capital city. There are 32 high-tech passenger capsules and each one can be fill up to 25 persons. Though, seat is limited and most of the time you have to stand for the whole approximately 30 minutes. Security check is quite stringent as the world we live in become more dangerous. If I had a further one more day, for sure I would have visit Stamford Bridge, Chelsea FC fortress.
Next stop, Paris. Air France gets us there. Train ride to Amirul's settlement, My Suite Village is about 1 hour 15 minute with one train change in Chatelet Station. He is kind enough to let us stay in his place for 2 night FOC. A short rest and off the three of us to the romantic city of Paris. A trip to Paris is not complete without a visit to Eiffel Tower, so that's our first stop. Like most of the tourist we went to Champs De Elysse, a famous road flank by designer boutiques. At one corner, stood the Louis Vuitton flagship store. This is where the famous and rather expensive brand originate from. "Sorry dear, no handbag for you this time." From there we went to the Louvre, a place known for its artistic value and Monalisa. 'Da Vinci Code' an adaptation film from a bestselling book by a bestseller author Dan Brown made that place even famous. 'Buka puasa' was a simple meal of salmon tagliatelli and vegetarian pizza in one of the restaurant along the road. With a full stomach, we headed towards Notre Dame to watch the 1/4 final match between All Blacks against France. As you can imagine, the area was swarmed with French people chanting 'Les Blues'. Damn, our favourite team All Blacks lost to the host 18-20. Feeling disappointed, we headed back home for a good night sleep. Preparing for an exciting journey tomorrow in the land of wonders, DISNEYLAND....

PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced a certain price but motorists found something else when they fuelled up at petrol stations after the new prices had kicked in at 12am this morning.Abdullah, in a cut of the petrol subsidy that shocked the nation, had announced in Putrajaya yesterday that the price for RON97 would be increased by 78 sen to RM2.70 and diesel by RM1 to RM2.58.
To their bewilderment, motorists discovered that the displayed price for petrol was RM2.704 — or an additional 0.004 sen per litre. The same applied to the displayed price for diesel of RM2.581

The moment we left Hanim's house, there was already massive jam on the road, near the Petronas Station and the opposite side, Mobil..and everywhere!!! We, fortunately, were not part of the big rush to queue at the petrol kiosk:

1) our tanks are still pretty full

2) how long does one full tank last, anyways? after that one before-midnight-tank we still have to pump in petrol @ the current price. so, we thought... why bother!

But, we planned to go around the area before 12am, and take pictures( I forgot actually) of the petrol station with 5km-long-queues! ;)

With the petrol price hike, I don't know whether I should take the public transport or just virtual holiday from now on. It surely won't be merely a pinch, this increase, but a lot more to many of us. And they say, things can only get better?I have my doubts.

Cuppies ini adalah untuk our nephew-Syauqi .This cupcakes were custom made by Anna. Told by Anna yg dia akan buat beach theme.Bila tgk all the cuppies tu, aduhai, nak makan pun syg.Sgt shantekk tau.

This is the birthday boy. Mula2 kami buat tahlil bersama family and after that we had our dinner -makan berdulang. It was awkward for me tp kalau makan dgn husband je, i ok lar.ehhehe

Okay, so we woke up at 6am on 28th May 2008, get ready for our Tioman trip.Journey from Yong Peng to Mersing took about 2 hours. Kami sampai di jetty at 10am. After 2 1/2 hours, we reached Air Batang Village(ABC Beach) by Fast Ferry( ohh sgt pening sbb mabuk laut). The service is OK. Upon arrival, the staff carried our heavy bags and we need not worry about carrying them to the hut. Welcome drink is also given upon request.

Anyway,do not have too high expectation of accommodation at Tioman especially if u plan to stay at Nazri's place-budget room (RM80) & deluxe seaview( RM120/night).

The rooms are basic,recommended for people who needs basic luxury but the tap water was quite slow. Susah btol nak mandi.Nak bercakap pun kena control,if not your next door buddy will hear us..hehehe. But,you're outdoors most of the time anyway, so why be picky,kan? As usual our chalet is right infront of the beach.

Tp for those yang nak bilik yang cozy/honeymooners,betta amik yg deluxe king.deluxe triple or family room.. The rooms are comfortable and clean.The price from RM160-RM200.At least no one can hear you while you were talking kan :P. All rooms are just a few steps from the shore and you would be entertained by the splashing waves thruout the nite....

Nevertheless all rooms are clean and anyway with such nice beach will have very little time to spend in the room. At day time, the beach is very interesting.

Food jugak memuaskan at Nazri's place. We had meehoon goreng for lunch.Bnyk jugak ( gambar tak ambik) tp rasanya sedap. Malam, as usual ada bbq night with the family.

Snorkeling is a must in Tioman! Went to Marine Park for 2 hrs . I think everybody patut ke Coral Island, kami tak sempat nak pegi ke sana.Then ptg ada sukaneka with the family.Me&husband won the challenge- ACARA KEPIT BOLA. That night, we had dinner at Nazri's restaurant. Foodnya sedap,ikan fresh! Their staff are very helpful and friendly.We ended the night with the annual upacara penyampaian hadiah by abah( my father in law)

The most important things, we had fantastic family day.

Anyway, our anniversary is coming soon. We are thinking "pooh-cat" for this year honeymoon destination. Yeaaaaa, i can't wait!
